Sea World Orlando unveils coaster for 2009: Manta
Sea World Orlando unveiled plans for a one-of-a-kind ride Thursday as the park's second coaster.
It's a thrill ride tribute to rays called Manta that features a facedown coaster skimming just over a lake at speeds approaching 60 miles per hour.
Propelled by a 140-foot lift hill, the 12-foot-wide cars are positioned so riders' feet dangle within a foot of the water rushing by while raylike wings knife into the water, throwing up a rooster tail.
